(HURON COUNTY, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) would like to remind the public to be very cautious of a scam that hit Huron County this past week.
A 51-year-old from South Huron received a call this week from someone claiming to work for the Bank”. The scammer directed the victim to check on her online banking accounts because they had received information that her accounts had been compromised. The victim allowed the scammer remote access into her bank accounts and then he made an electronic transfer of $730 from her account into an offshore account.
