The liberation of The Square Mile by removal of Hall Of Shamer police chief tim poole is only one step in taking back our Community. This is on top of the jubilant news that ineffectual facilities director Pat Newson is now gone and our facilities might now start to be maintained properly, and maybe the pool will be open during the summer.
North Huron council is responsible for the current state of the Howson Dam as they refused to allow town staff to maintain it. This can be traced back to former public works director Ralph Campbell’s desire to do less work and council’s spinelessness to tell a department head to do the job they are paid to do. That combined with Blyth and East-Wawanosh councillors blocking maintenance is why Howson Dam is in the state it is in.
The sad reality is Howson Dam could likely have been restored for the amount of money council has pissed away in studies and consultant fees due to fear of making a simple decision. Just parge and/or gunite the dam, put the boards back in and let the Taxpayers enjoy their dam like numerous generations before Neil Vincent decided to let Wingham rot.
