2:26 pm a Saugeen Shores resident reported being scammed out of a sum of money. There are many similar scams out there, please always question them and if in doubt call police and ask. If you get a cold call from a bank asking about your banking information it is probably a fraud, they already know your information. Simply hang up. Do not give them any information. They could claim to be from Revenue Canada, a bank, a computer company, Microsoft, or many others, ask for a call back number and their name. Look up the proper contacts for that company and ask them directly, odds are it is a scam. If ever anyone asks you to send money via Western Union to anywhere, a red flag should go up and don’t continue, call police. This complainant was out $2000, save your hard earned money, ask questions and don’t be afraid to hang up, delete an email or shred a letter.
