Ryan GORTON – 155 in an 80

(CAMPBELLFORD, ON) – On January 21, 2015 at 11:30pm a Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was on patrolling County Road 30 north of Campbellford when he observed a car travelling at a high rate of speed. The officer activated his radar and recorded a speed of 155 km/h in a 80 km/h zone.

Charged with Stunt Driving Excessive Speed is Ryan GORTON age 30 of Havelock. GORTON is scheduled to appear at the Provincial Offences Court in Campbellford on February 26, 2015. His car was impounded for 7 days and his driver’s licence suspended for the same period of time.

Upon conviction, the driver can face a $2,000 to $10,000 fine, 6 demerit points, up to 6 months in jail and up to a 2 year licence suspension for a first conviction.
