Ryan CANNON – Drunk Driving

(Quinte West, ON) – On May 17th, 2015, at approximately 1:50am, officers from the Quinte West OPP Detachment responded to a call for a single motor vehicle collision. Information was received that the vehicle had entered the Trent River somewhere between Trenton and Frankford.

Officers searched the area and located a vehicle a short time later in the area of Trenton-Frankford Rd. The vehicle was on it’s roof in the river. Officers entered the river to try and get the occupants out of the vehicle. When the Quinte West Fire Department arrived on scene, OPP officers assisted members of the fire department with the extrication of the occupants of the vehicle.

After the occupants were removed from the vehicle it was determined that the drivers ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

Ryan CANNON, 25, of Trenton has been charged with:

· Drive Motor Vehicle While Impaired by Alcohol, Section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

· Drive With Over 80mgs of Alcohol in Blood, Section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code

The male was released on a Promise to Appear and is expected to appear in The Ontario Court of Justice.

The driver and occupant were treated for minor injuries.
