(MAPLETON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On July 20, 2014 at approximately 9:28 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting R.I.D.E. spot checks on Wellington County Road 45 near Wellington Road 12, Mapleton Township.
Officers spoke with the male driver of a 2005 Pontiac and believed that he had consumed alcohol. A Roadside Screening Device test was administered which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and brought to a local detachment for further testing.
The Administrative Drivers’ Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and his motor vehicle impounded for seven days.
Ryan BAUMAN age 21 of Elmira has been charged with Over 80 MGS contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on August 20, 2014 to answer to the charge.
