Russell Ernest BONDY – Arson, Criminal Harassment

(ESSEX, ON) — The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) squad arrested a male on February 18, 2016 at approximately 9:00 p.m. at a residence in Windsor.

A warrant had been issued for Russell Ernest BONDY, in conjunction with a residential fire that occurred on February 10, 2016 on Nottingham Drive in Essex and was investigated by the Essex County OPP Crime Unit and the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office (OFM).

BONDY, age 53 of Essex was charged with Arson—Damage to Own Property, Occupant Injuring Building and Criminal Harassment contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was held for a bail hearing.

The investigation remains ongoing at this time and further charges are possible.

OPP ASSISTING FIRE MARSHALL

(Essex ONTARIO) –

Members of the Essex County OPP Crime Unit are assisting the Ontario Fire Marshall who is investigating a residential fire that occurred in Essex last night to assist in determining the cause.

At approximately 11:25 PM on Wednesday February 10th, Essex fire was dispatched to a house fire at a residence on Nottingham Drive. The house was empty at the time of the fire and there were no injuries. There is no estimate of the damage at this time.
