Runaway School Bus Hits House

(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On October 31, 2016 at approximately 5:53 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to investigate after an unoccupied school bus collided into a house on Napoleon Street in Eugenia, in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

The 2009 First Student school bus, which was parked in a private laneway on Napoleon Street, rolled west downhill, through a hedge and across Inkerman Street, where it eventually collided into a residence on Napoleon Street, causing severe damage to the house as well as the school bus. Three people were inside the residence at the time of the collision however, there were no injuries.

The incident was investigated and the cause was determined to be mechanical.

No further police action was required.
