(BLIND RIVER, ON)- On December 31, 2016, shortly after 3:00 p.m., members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a threats complaint at a residence on Colonization Road in the Town of Blind River.
Investigation determined that a male had uttered threats to harm a male and a female. The male was also on conditions to abstain from communicating with the couple.
On January 4, 2017, police located and arrested the male at a government building in the Town of Blind River.
As a result, Ross HEFFERN, 49 years of age, from Blind River, Ontario, was charged with:
Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm (X2), contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC); and
Fail to Comply with Conditions of Undertaking Given by an Officer in Charge, contrary to section 145(5.1) of the CC.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on February 9, 2017.
