(SEGUIN TOWNSHIP, ON) – On June 12, 2018 at shortly before 5 p.m., a member of the West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a possible impaired driver, driving a Utility-Terrain Vehicle (UTV) in Seguin Township Ontario. The UTV sideswiped a vehicle on Hekkla Road in Muskoka Lakes Township, Ontario. The officer located the vehicle and spoke with to the driver. The officer determined that he had consumed alcohol.
As a result of the investigation, Ronald ROWE, a 49 year old male from Muskoka Lakes Township, Ontario was arrested and charged with:
Driving motor vehicle while ability impaired by alcohol, contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC),
Dangerous operation of motor vehicle, contrary, to section 249(1)(a) of the CC,
Drive while disqualified – court order contrary, to section 259(4) of the CC X 6,
Fail to provide sample contrary to section 254(5) of the CC,
Drive while under suspension, contrary, to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
Drive off road vehicle – no number plate, contrary to section 3(1) of the Off Road Vehicle Act (ORVA),
Drive off road vehicle – no insurance, contrary to the section 15(1) of the ORVA, and
Fail to wear proper helmet, contrary to the section 19(1) of the ORVA.
The driver was held for bail and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound, Ontario.

The OPP reminds motorists that there is no safe amount of drug or alcohol consumption when driving. Anyone who suspects a driver that is driving while impaired is urged to call police by dialing 9-1-1 immediately.
