(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment has charged a 54-year-old male with firearms related offences following an investigation at a Lock Street West, Dunnville, Haldimand County, Ontario address.
On Sunday December 24, 2017 at 4:24 p.m., OPP responded to Lock Street West after a citizen reported a neighbour had pointed, what appeared to be, a firearm at youths who were seated in a vehicle.
OPP investigation has determined that a male exited a residence and was yelling at some youths who were seated in a vehicle. Witnesses reported the male then pointed a firearm at the youths before returning to a residence.
A unloaded firearm was located inside the residence and was seized by police.
OPP investigation led to the arrest of the male.
OPP has charged 54-year-old Roger BASTIEN of Dunnville, Haldimand County, Ontario with:
Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
Careless use of a firearm
Pointing a firearm
He is to appear in Provincial Court Cayuga at a later date to answer to the charges.
