(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On June 29, 2016 at approximately 10:00 p.m., an officer with the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) stopped a 2014 Dodge pickup truck for a traffic violation on Highway 6 near Maltby Road, Guelph. Police spoke with the man driving and he showed signs of impairment by alcohol. He was arrested and taken to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.
His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.
58-year-old Rogelio FERREIRA of Guelph has been charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80 Mgs contrary to the Criminal Code. He is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on July 19, 2016.
