(Bancroft, ON) – On the 17 March 2017, in the early morning, officers from the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were responding to a complaint in the Municipality of Highlands East.
During the investigation it was learned that the male was walking away from a residence, and then returned to retrieve his vehicle. Officers located and initiated a traffic stop on the motor vehicle and while speaking with the driver they determined that the male had been consuming alcohol.
As a result of the investigation, Robert SMITH, 58 years of the Municipality of Hastings Highlands has been charged with Driving with over 80mgs Alcohol in 100mls of Blood.
The accused was released on a promise to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on April 18, 2017.
