(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – On December 5, 2015, at approximately 3:38 p.m., the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an erratic driver travelling on Highway 401 westbound.
Officers located the vehicle, a red Honda car, on the Highway 401 westbound on-ramp, and determined the male driver has been drinking alcohol. He was placed under arrest, and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for breath testing.
As a result of the police investigation, 39-year-old Robert PETERS, from Ottawa, Ontario, has been charged with driving while ability impaired – motor vehicle (alcohol and drug), and driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was further charged with drive motor vehicle on a highway while using a hand-held wireless communication device, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
The accused was released on a Promise to Appear (PTA), and is scheduled to answer the charges in the London courts on February 4, 2016.
