(Oro-Medonte, ON) – On Saturday November 7, 2015 at 4:30 pm Officers from the Barrie detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a motorist with a drinking and driving offence after receiving a traffic complaint.
A member of the public reported a silver Audi A4 traveling northbound on highway 11 in Oro-Medonte Twp. The vehicle was reported to be weaving all over the road and at times traveling below the posted speed limit.
58-year old Robert BEWELL of Oro-Medonte Twp was charged Drive Motor Vehicle Over 80 milligrams of alcohol.
His licence was suspended for a period of 90 days under the Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS) program and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days. He is scheduled to appear at the Provincial court in Barrie

BUS COLLISION
(Oro-Medonte, ON) On Sunday November 8, 2015 at 10:19 a.m. officers from the Barrie Detachment of The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with County of Simcoe Paramedic Services, and Oro-Medonte Fire attended a bus collision on Highway 11 northbound in Oro-Medonte Twp.
The 2014 CAN-AR Coach Services tour bus was northbound on Highway 11 north of Oro-Medonte Twp Line 4. The bus struck an MTO sign located on the side of the highway.
The bus was carrying 32 passengers 15 of which were transported to a local hospital with minor injury.
The investigation is continuing.
