Robbery – Two Teens Charged

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON.) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County detachment continues to investigate a robbery at a Clansman Crescent, Caledonia, Haldimand County, ON address.

On Saturday July 4th, 2015 at approximately 5:13 am Police received a call of a Robbery which had occurred involving the theft of a black 2003 Chev SS Silverado pickup truck.

At approximately 5:08 am a resident exited his home to investigate a noise where he was verbally confronted with a threat of serious bodily harm with a possible weapon.

The black Chev pickup truck was then stolen from a neighbour’s driveway and was last seen heading east on Clansman Crescent along with an involved suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle was described as a silver Hummer.

On Sunday July 5th, 2015 at approximately 8:08 pm County of Brant OPP responded to a single motor vehicle rollover at Campbell and Cockshutt Roads, County of Brant.

Investigation revealed that a 2003 silver Hummer left the road and rolled over. A 17 year old Brantford, ON male was located at the scene and a 19 year old male was observed leaving the scene by witnesses.

A check of the Hummer revealed that it had been stolen from the City of Woodstock on Friday July 3rd, 2015 and was identified as the suspect vehicle in the Robbery in Caledonia and a theft of gas from the Pioneer Gas Station, Hagersville, Haldimand County, ON.

As a result of the information received the 17 year old male was arrested and a search of the area revealed the 19 year old male who was also arrested.

Charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 dollars, Theft under $5000 dollars, and Fail to Comply with Court Order is a 17 year old Brantford, ON male. The 19 year old identified as Michael ROBERTS-SKATER of Brantford, ON has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 dollars, Theft under $5000 dollars and Possession of an illegal substance (Cannabis Marihuana). Both are to appear in Provincial Court, Brantford, ON at a later date to answer to the charges.

The Robbery investigation continues and the black 2003 Chev SS pickup truck has not been recovered.
