(Hawkesbury, ON) A robbery was reported last October by a gym employee. It was reported that 2 men had entered the gym requesting the money from the cash register. The OPP Identification Unit, Canine unit, Crime Unit and patrol officers intervened. No one was found at the time of the incident.
A lengthy investigation by Detective-Constable Alain Potvin revealed that the incident was falsified by the complainant / victim.
The investigation revealed that the gym employee took the money from the cash register and called police alleging being the victim of a robbery.
Shaun AUGER (19 yrs) of Rigaud was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:
– Section 334(b) Theft Under $5000
– Section 140(1)(b) Public Mischief
The accused was released and will appear at the court in L’Orignal on January 29th at 9 am.
