The Barrie Police Service is presently investigating a home invasion type robbery that occurred at approximately noon on Saturday at a Hickling Trail residence. The two male victims report that a male suspect knocked at the door and eventually pushed his way inside, the suspect was armed with a black handgun. He then threatended to shoot the two male victims, he repeatedly struck one of the victims in the head and face with the weapon. One of the victims did fight back yelling at the suspect to leave the premise. The suspect left after obtaining cash. The suspect was chased by the victims and was observed entering a vehicle which sped out of the area.
