On Tuesday February 18th, 2014 at approximately 12:00 PM police were contacted by concerned residents to attend in the area of Grove Street and Davies Cr as a water main had ruptured in close proximity to the intersection.
When police arrived they discovered the water main break to be on Grove Street, directly in between Davises Cr and Cook Street.
As a result of the immediate road hazard presented to motorists on the roadway, Grove Street was immediately closed from Davies Crescent to Cook Street. Detour signs were erected by the City of Barrie – Roads Department to inform and re-route motorists of the closure.
The duration of the closure is unknown at this time.
