(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – The West Parry Sound District has been struck with some severe meteorological conditions this past month. Winter weather can be unpredictable, creating challenging driving conditions.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has had to close several provincial highways this winter. Road closures due to the winter weather conditions are to ensure the safety of the residents and the visitors to the Province of Ontario. If a Provincial Highway is closed due to weather related reasons, travelling on secondary roads is not encouraged. The secondary roads are experiencing the same weather conditions.
If you are travelling through Parry Sound and encounter a road closure, it is for your safety! Find a local establishment for heat, fuel and shelter and stay put until the weather clears. Your life could depend on it!
Always obey emergency road closing signs and barriers and follow the directions of Police. It is for YOUR SAFETY!
