(Champlain, ON) – The Hawkesbury OPP would like to advise motorists that Highway 34 is closed between Pattee and Greenlane Roads as a live hydro wire fell onto the road.
According to initial findings, a farm tractor hit a hydro pole anchoring wire which pulled the attached pole, consequently breaking a hydro wire which fell onto the road.
The dangerous situation is being contained where Highway 34 traffic is being re-routed via Sandy Hill / Pearl and Greenlane Roads.
The said highway will be closed for 3 to 5 hours pending reparations. Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.
