(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Saturday November 20, 2010 shortly before midnight a motorist was following a suspected impaired driver from the New Hamburg area towards Stratford. The motorist contacted police to advise that the vehicle being followed was driving erratically.
A Perth County OPP officer stopped the suspect vehicle and the driver was found to be impaired. The male driver was transported to the Perth County OPP Detachment where breath tests were administered. As a result of these tests Rigoberto Martinez (47) from Waterloo was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and with operating a motor vehicle with over 80 mgs. of alcohol in 100 ml. of blood.
He is to appear in Stratford Criminal Court on January 10, 2011 to answer to these charges. In addition he was also served an immediate 90 day drivers licence suspension.
