RIDE CHECK YIELDS DRUG CHARGE

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – On April 6, 2014 officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) established a RIDE check program at the intersection of Black Bear Drive and Northline Road.

As a vehicle entered the RIDE check area an officer approached and determined that there was marihuana present in the vehicle. As a result of the investigation Joseph WALKER, 54 years of age, of Lindsay, was arrested and charged with possession of marihuana, under 30 grams, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on May 22, 2014.
