RIDE Check Leads To Drug Charges

(HURON EAST, ON) -On October 2, 2011 at around midnight Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. program (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) on Front Road in the Municipality of Huron East.

A Chevrolet Venture van approached the check point and upon speaking to the driver the officer detected a strong odour of marijuana. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the occupants had marijuana in the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, Kurtis Green (19) and Kenneth Green (54) both of Huron East have been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and will answer to their charges at the Ontario Court of Justice- Walkerton on November 28, 2011. LP11279217
