(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County detachment investigated a motor vehicle collision at a Highway 59, Long Point, Norfolk County, Ontario address.
On Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at approximately 10:37 p.m., officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision.
Through the course of investigation, it has determined that a vehicle was travelling southbound on Highway 59, when the driver lost control and entered the ditch ,striking a hydro pole.
No injuries were sustained by the driver.
As a result of investigation, police have charged 64-year-old Richard Robert FRANCKE of Norfolk County, Ontario with driving over the legal limit.
He is to appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charge.
“There will be zero tolerance for motorists driving aggressively, impaired by drugs or alcohol, distracted drivers or those who fail to buckle up. Driving safety is everyone’s responsibility and it starts before the vehicle is put into drive” comments Constable Ed Sanchuk, Norfolk County OPP.
