(CALEDON, ON) – On December 30th, 2014 at 5:46 pm, officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a robbery at a Palgrave gas station. The investigation indicated that a lone male entered the store and demanded money from the attendant. The suspect brandished a pair of scissors and left the store with cash from the register. K-9 and members from the Emergency Response Team (ERT) attended the location and assisted with the investigation.
On January 8th, 2015 members from the Street Crime Unit (SCU) and the Community Response Unit (CRU) executed a search warrant at a Village of Bolton residence.
As a result of the investigation, Richard Malec, 30, from Caledon was arrested and charged with Robbery.
The accused was held in custody overnight and made an appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville yesterday.
