(GODERICH, ON) – A 75 year old male is facing a criminal charge for driving a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol stemming from an early morning traffic stop on December 10, 2013. At approximately 1:20 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped the driver of a Ford Ranger pickup on Courthouse Square for a sobriety check. Upon speaking with the driver the officer noted the driver had been consuming alcohol.
A roadside screening test was completed which the driver failed. He was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment where he provided two samples of his breath. Both samples were above the legal limit.
As a result, Richard LITTLECHILD, 75, from Goderich, has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on January 27, 2014. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
