Richard JOWETT – Drunk Driving

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On November 25, 2014, just before 2:00 a.m., a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a Nissan car for a speeding infraction on Highway 401 eastbound, near Kennesserie Road.

While the officer was speaking with the driver, 56 year old Richard JOWETT, from Toronto, it was determined that he had been consuming alcoholic beverages.

Further OPP traffic investigation revealed that there was open liquor in the vehicle.

Subsequent tests indicated that the driver was over the legal limit and he will appear in a Chatham court on December 11, 2014, to answer to the following charges:

Driving With More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol In Blood

Driving While Ability Impaired

Speeding

Driving Motor Vehicle With Liquor Readily Available

Driving Motor Vehicle With Open Container Of Liquor
