DRIVER CHARGED AFTER FAILING TO STOP
(Chatham-Kent, ON) On the 13th of August, 2013 at 9:23 p.m. the Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call from a concerned motorist about a vehicle that was driving erratically on the 401 Highway eastbound, near the Scane Side road.
Police located the vehicle on the 401 Highway in Elgin County and attempted to stop it. The vehicle continued to drive for approximately 4 Kilometres while two OPP cruisers followed the vehicle with emergency lights activated. Once stopped police determined that the driver was impaired by drug and further test by a drug recognition expert determined he was impaired by drug.
Richard JEFFERSON , a 36 year old Brampton, Ontario man is facing the following charges;
