Restaurant Supervisor Charged With Forcible Confinment

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – On October 24, 2016, members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a dispute at a restaurant between an employee and her boss on Hillside Drive South in the City of Elliot Lake.

Shortly before 3:00 p.m., police learned that a female employee had a verbal argument with her boss. The supervisor held the employee for 20 minutes in the store during the argument.

As a result, Dilip PATEL, 26 years of age, from Elliot Lake, Ontario, was arrested and charged with: Forcible Confinement, contrary to section 279(2) of the Criminal Code.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on January 3, 2017.

FEMALE ARRESTED FOR SHOPLIFTING

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON)- On October 14, 2016, members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a theft in the City of Elliot Lake.

Shortly before 12:00 p.m., police learned that an employee at a local Pharmacy observed a female take two items off a shelved and put them inside her jacket. The employee followed the female out of the store and confronted her. The female then returned the two items.

As a result of the investigation, Karen TRIMBLE, 41 years of age, from Elliot Lake, Ontario, was arrested on October 25, 2016 and charged with: Theft Under $5000-Shoplifting, contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on December 6, 2016.
