On Sunday January 3, 2016 at approximately 1:30 am, residents at 21 Glasgow St in Kitchener were awoken by their smoke alarms sounding and smoke filling the main and upstairs units. Kitchener Fire Department arrived to the main entrance of the house in flames, and extinguished the fire without incident. Three occupants escaped through an attic window and climbed onto the second floor balcony, while all other occupants exited the residence safely. No one was injured, however, three occupants attended Grand River Hospital for further medical assessment. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, as Kitchener fire is continuing the investigation.
