Residential Break In

(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On December 27, 2015 at approximately 7:31 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a break-in and theft from a residence on Brackenbury Street, Markdale, in the Municipality of Grey Highlands. The victim contacted police after she returned home and discovered several articles of clothing outside the residence and the man-door to the garage wide open.

Initial investigation revealed that sometime between 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on December 27th, unknown person(s) entered the residence and removed several items of women’s clothing and jewelry, which had a total value of approximately $6,000.

A small sedan, make and colour unknown, was observed in the victim’s driveway and a red or burgundy SUV was observed parked in front of the residence during the time period when the break-in occurred.

Grey County OPP, with the assistance of the Grey County Crime Unit and the OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit, Mount Forest, continue to investigate and ask anyone with information which may assist to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
