(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Friday May 10, 2013, at 1:45 a.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers in Mitchell were dispatched to a residence on Henry Street where the homeowner was awakened by the sound of someone opening the fridge door in the downstairs kitchen. The homeowner yelled down the stairs causing the intruder to run out of the home.
Police responded to the residence and an OPP canine track was initiated. This track and subsequent searches were unsuccessful.
Investigation indicated that the intruder entered the residence through an unlocked door which leads from the unlocked attached garage. Nothing appears to have been damaged or stolen in the home or the garage.
