(SMOOTH ROCK FALLS, ON) – On October 23, 2015, the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police received several reports of thefts from vehicles and garages in the Town of Smooth Rock Falls which had occurred overnight.
American currency and various belongings were stolen from properties on Ross Road, Art Street and Pine Avenue. Police located the suspects and recovered some of the property.
Eric STEVENSON, 18, of Smooth Rock Falls was arrested and charged with the following offences:
Two counts of Breaking and Entering with intent to commit an indictable offence contrary to section 348(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC), as well as;
Breaking and Entering commit an indictable offence contrary to section 348(1)(b) CCC, as well as;
Four counts of Theft Under $5000 contrary to section 334(b) CCC which include one of Shoplifting and one of Theft from a motor vehicle, as well as;
Two counts of Fail to Comply with Recognizance contrary to section 145(3) CCC, as well as;
Two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to section 733.1(1) CCC as well as;
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) CCC.
He was remanded into custody and will be returning to the Ontario Court of Justice in Cochrane on November 10, 2015 at 10:00.
Brandon JEANVEAU, 20, of Smooth Rock Falls was arrested and charged with the following offences:
Two counts of Breaking and Entering with intent to commit an indictable offence contrary to section 348(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC), as well as;
Breaking and Entering commit an indictable offence contrary to section 348(1)(b) CCC, as well as;
Three counts of Theft Under $5000 contrary to section 334(b) CCC which include one of Theft from a motor vehicle, as well as;
Two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) CCC.
Two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to section 733.1(1) CCC as well as;
Fail to Comply with Recognizance contrary to section 145(3) CCC.
He was released and will be returning to the Ontario Court of Justice in Cochrane on February 4, 2016.
