Repeat Offender With Weapons Arrested In Lucknow In Stolen Vehicle – Name Released

(LUCKNOW, ON) – On February 6, 2017 at 11:06 a.m., a South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on patrol along Wheeler Street in Lucknow stopped a Green Pontiac Grand Prix. The officer found that the driver wasn’t licenced and further investigation revealed the vehicle was reported stolen.

Twenty-six-year old Scott POYNTON of Stratford has been charged with drive while disqualified, theft of motor vehicle, 3 counts possession of stolen property, 2 counts possess a weapon, 2 counts driver possess a weapon, breach probation, drive while suspended, unauthorized licence plate, defaced licence plate, defaced validation, drive with no permit, possess licence while prohibited and fail to produce insurance card. He has been held in custody pending the results of a bail hearing scheduled for February 7, 2017.
