Repeat Offender From Palmerston Facing Impaired Driving And Drug Charges

(TOWN OF MINTO)- On November 28, 2015 at approximately 9:12 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers stopped a 2007 Honda on Temple Street, Palmerston. Police spoke with the male driver and believed he had consumed alcohol. A roadside screening device was utilized and the driver failed provide a suitable sample of breathe. Officers also located suspected marihuana. He was arrested and released at the scene with court documents.

His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.

31-year-old Patrick DINEEN of Palmerston has been charged with Fail to Provide a Sample contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada and Possession of Marihuana under 30 grams contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on January 19, 2016.
