(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On September 24, 2015, at 10:13 p.m., a member of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle on Highway 400 in Seguin Township. Police investigation and a search of the vehicle led to the seizure of Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Marihuana and a prohibited weapon.
The driver, Zachary RANEY, 18 years of age from Parry Sound was charged with Speeding contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA). RANEY was issued a Provincial Offences Notice.
Passenger, Anthony CULL, 22 years of age from Parry Sound was arrested and charged with:
· Possession of a schedule I substance – Methamphetamine as per the Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA).
· Possession of a schedule I substance – Cocaine as per the CDSA.
· Possession of a schedule II substance – Cannabis Marihuana – under 30 grams as per the CDSA.
· Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was prohibited or restricted weapon contrary to the CC.
· Breach of Recognizance contrary to the CC.
The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Parry Sound on October 29, 2015 to answer to his charges.
