(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – On September 5, 2017 at approximately 9:52 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a theft report after an unknown male was observed stealing several cans of gasoline from a residence on Southgate Road 22 in the Township of Southgate. The suspect left the scene in a white pick-up truck eastbound on Southgate Road 22. Information was received that prior to the theft of gas, the same vehicle was observed towing a gold-coloured pick-up truck.
While en route, police observed a male and a female standing next to a gold-coloured pick-up truck at the intersection of Grey Road 23 and Southgate Road 22. While speaking to the pair, police had discovered that the truck, as well as the plates, had been reported stolen from Middlesex County. The male fled on foot. Police arrested the female who transported to the Chatsworth OPP Detachment.
32-year old Jessica Lea BABO of Sarnia, Ontario was charged with possession of stolen property and breach of probation. She was held for a bail hearing on September 5, 2017.
She is scheduled to appear in Court in Owen Sound on October 5, 2017.
