On August 7 th , 2017 Owen Sound Police were advised of a male party that has been breaching his probation conditions. The male who was arrested and convicted earlier this year for domestic assault has been continually contacting his victim despite conditions of a probation order prohibiting him to do so.
On today’s date, the male contacted his victim and arranged to meet at a location in the downtown core. Police arrived at the arranged time and approached the male advising him that he was under arrest. The male fled on foot behind downtown businesses however was apprehended after a short foot pursuit. The 26 year old Owen Sound man has been charged with 2 counts of failing to comply with conditions of his probation order and escape lawful custody. The male will be held in custody pending the outcome of a bail hearing on August 8 th , 2017.
