Firearms Stolen During Break And Enter

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers with the investigative assistance of the OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and the Huron County Property Crimes unit are investigating a break, enter and theft that took place over the long weekend in South Huron near Woodham.

Investigators have determined that sometime between 3:00 p.m. on August 5th and 1:00 p.m. on August 7th those responsible entered into a residence located on Kirkton Road.

Once inside the residence those responsible stole a duffle bag full of hunting supplies (various duck decoys, jack knife) and six firearms.

The stolen firearms are described as follows:

Remington V3, semi-automatic 12 gauge shotgun with a walnut stock

Remington model 11, 16 gauge shotgun, semi-automatic with a walnut stock

Remington BDL, model 700, 30-06 bolt action rifle with a Bushnell 3X9 scope

Remington 700 ADL, .308 calibre, bolt action rifle with a walnut stock

Remington 700 SPS, .222 bolt action with a synthetic stock and a Redfield scope

Ruger model 77, .22 calibre rifle with a green, red and brown stock

The reported value of the stolen firearms and hunting gear is $4,700.
