In July 2015, a complaint was filed with the Guelph Police Service regarding a renovation fraud. It is alleged that in December 2013, the accused was hired to complete a roof renovation at a residence in Guelph. A verbal agreement was made and the accused was paid a sum of cash to buy materials to replace the roof. The materials were never purchased and the roof work was never done. On September 15, 2015 the investigation led to the arrest of the accused.
Edward LOCKLYN, 27 years of Guelph has been charged with fraud under $5,000. He will appear in court on October 20, 2015.
Break and enters
-On September 15, 2015 at 4:05 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Martin Avenue residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) damaged the front door to gain entry sometime during the day. There is no report of theft in this incident.

-On September 15, 2015 at 5:26 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Raymond Street residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered through the homes rear door sometime during the day. A lap top and two Ipads are reported stolen.

-On September 15, 2015 at 7:38 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Willow Road residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered through a bedroom window sometime during the day. An Xbox and games are reported stolen.

-On September 15, 2015 at 9:04 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Harvard Road residence to investigate an attempt break and enter. The resident was home when someone damaged a door to the home to gain entry. Police were called and a search of the area was conducted without success. No theft is reported in this incident.

Theft from cars
On September 15, 2015 the Guelph Police received five reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Bagot Street, Cheltonwood Avenue, Silvercreek Parkway North, Edinburgh Road South and Harrison Avenue.
This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible.
