R.I.D.E. Checks Continue
Police are continuing to conduct numerous RIDE spot checks in their efforts to combat drinking and driving. During the first 10 days of December 66 RIDE spot checks were set up in the Renfrew OPP Detachment area. No charges of impaired driving have been laid. Citizens are encouraged to continue with their efforts to eliminate impaired driving, which might include reporting suspected impaired drivers by calling 9-1-1, having a designated driver, choosing to stay the night if they have been drinking, or call a taxi. Don’t let an impaired driving tragedy ruin your holidays, drive sober!
#See Snow Go Slow
Motorists are encouraged to reduce their speed during snowstorms. Too many people continue to drive too fast, fail to leave enough distance between vehicles, and don’t give themselves extra time to stop when it is snowing out. Winter driving can be challenging and motorists must adjust their driving for the weather conditions or they may find themselves sliding out of control or involved in collisions.
