(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated 38 calls for service on Monday September 1including an animal complaint, family disputes, a fire and mischief.
Fire
A fire on Monday morning at a seasonal residence on Gagan Lane in Horton Township caused minor damage to a deck. The call concerning the fire came in at 10:30 am. The fire was determined to be accidental, as a pile of ashes on the deck caught fire. No one was injured. Paramedics and the Horton Fire Department attended as well.
Animal Complaint
Police responded to a dog left in a hot car on Elgin Street in Arnprior at 11:18am. The male driver of the vehicle was located and warned.
Domestic and Family Disputes
Police investigated one domestic dispute on Monday September 1. The case remains under investigation. Police also responded to two family disputes the same day. No charges were laid.
Suspicious Vehicles
Police responded to three suspicious vehicle calls on Monday September 1. One caller at 10:02 pm reported a vehicle parked near the graveyard on Haley Road and a group of people possibly damaging property inside the graveyard. When OPP officers arrived the vehicle was gone and no damage was observed. Two other calls were received reporting vehicles that were similar to the suspect vehicle related to a call in Calabogie on Saturday. One vehicle was located and ruled out; the other vehicle was not located by police.
