While carrying out a RIDE spot check at the intersection of Grand Ave at Memory Lane in the Community of Chatham, a Community Patrol Officer demanded a sample of breath to be provided into an approved roadside screening device from a motorist who displayed signs of consuming alcohol. The driver, a 67 year old resident of Chatham refused to comply with this demand, and as a result was arrested and charged with this offence, contrary to Section 254(5) of the Criminal Code. He was released on an Appearance Notice with a future court date.
