RED LAKE OPP EXECUTE DRUG WARRANT

(RED LAKE, ON) – On January 22, 2014 members from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Red Lake Detachment, Red Lake Crime Unit, Northwest Region Emergency Response Team and the Kenora Drug Enforcement Unit executed a Controlled Drug and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a residence in Red Lake.

Shortly before midnight the officers entered the residence and located cocaine, marihuana, cash and an illegally possessed firearm inside the residence.

As of result of the investigation 20 year old Ryan Brigden of Red Lake was charged with 2 counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drug and Substances Act, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code, Unauthorized Possession of a firearm contrary to section 91(1) of the Criminal Code and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon contrary to 91(2) of the Criminal Code.
