(Essa Township, ON) On the 11th of November 2014, at 10:40 a.m. officers from the Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an abandoned snowmobile trailer in a wooded trail area around the intersection of the 9th Line and the 30th Sideroad in Essa Township. When officers arrived they located the trailer and identifiers on the trailer that assisted in locating the owner. Officers were able to narrow down that the trailer had been left there sometime overnight between the 10th and 11th of November 2014.
Members of the Nottawasaga OPP Street Crime Unit further investigated and in speaking with the owner, it was learned that the trailer had been stolen from a “Self Storage†business in Oro-Medonte Township. The owner was not able to identify when the trailer had been stolen, as he was unaware it was missing. However, within the covered trailer had been two snowmobiles that were not recovered by police. At this time, two snowmobiles have been reported stolen and are described as, 2004 black Skidoo GSX 594cc with a pink custom decaling bearing plate “932048†and a 2010 yellow Skidoo Renegade 800cc bearing plate “4AA007â€Â. Please see attached photos of the exact sleds.
