(POWASSAN, ON) – On January 27, 2016, at approximately 10:15 p.m., a single motor vehicle collision on Chiswick Line, Chisholm Township, was reported to Powassan Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) by a concerned person who came upon the collision.
Investigation revealed that the vehicle had entered the ditch and rolled over. The driver, Rebecca FURNELL, 47, Nipissing, Ontario, was arrested and charged with:
Driving While Ability Impaired – Motor Vehicle (Alcohol), section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC);
Fail or Refuse to Provide Sample, section 254(5)CC;
Driving While Under Suspension, section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)
The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on February 9, 2016.
