(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment arrested a driver at an R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) spot check yesterday afternoon.
OPP officers were conducting an R.I.D.E. check December 23 between 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm on Glenarm Road and arrested and charged a driver for Driving While Disqualified contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC).
Randolph GREENWOOD, 52 years of age, of Omemee is charged with the following offences:
Driving While Disqualified contrary to Section 259(4) CCC
Fail to Comply with Recognizance contrary to Section 145(3) CCC (two counts)
Use Plate Not Authorized for Vehicle contrary to Section 12(1)(d) of the Highway Traffic Act
Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor contrary to Section 32(1) of the Liquor Licence Act
The accused was held for a bail hearing and will appear in Lindsay court this morning. The vehicle was towed and held for a 45 day impound.
