Rachel Jean WILLIAMS – Impaired Care And Control

(LAMBTON, ON) – On Friday January 8th, 2016 at approximately 2:12 p.m., the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a request, from a concerned citizen, regarding a possible impaired driver at a commercial institution on Lyndock Street, Corunna, ON.

Members of the Lambton OPP were informed that there was a possible intoxicated female, with a young child, at a commercial institution on Lyndock Street, Corunna and police were required to attend. OPP attended the location and upon arrival located the suspect female and young child in a motor vehicle. OPP made contact with the female driver and shortly thereafter formed the opinion that the driver was impaired due to the consumption of an alcoholic beverage. The female was arrested and transported to the Corunna OPP Detachment for breath testing however the accused refused to provide a sample.

As a result, 43 year-old, Rachel Jean WILLIAMS of Sarnia, ON was charged with:

Fail or Refuse to Provide Sample

Care and Control While Impaired

The accused will appear in the Sarnia Ontario Court of Justice on Monday March 7th, 2016.

The OPP is reminding drivers that any amount of alcohol or other drugs can impair one’s ability to drive. The OPP would like to encourage the public to dial 911 to report anyone who is operating or about to operate a motor vehicle while impaired.
