Races Caught

(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On October 28, 2015, a member of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted radar patrol on Highway 400 in Seguin Township. At approximately 4:41 pm a northbound motor vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed and as a result was stopped for “Stunt Driving”.

The driver, Trisha MCCAULEY, 18 years of age from Mchigeeg has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario (HTA). Her driver’s licence has been suspended for seven days and the vehicle she was operating has been impounded for seven days.

The driver was served a summons requiring her to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on December 15, 2015 to answer to the charge.

DRIVER CHARGED FOR STUNT DRIVING

(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On October 28, 2015, a member of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted radar patrol on Highway 400 in McDougall Township. At approximately 11:20 pm, a southbound motor vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed and as a result was stopped for “Stunt Driving”.

The driver, Tyler BURKE, 25 years of age from Wyebridge has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario (HTA). His driver’s licence has been suspended for seven days and the vehicle he was operating has been impounded for seven days.

The driver was served a summons requiring him to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on December 15, 2015 to answer to the charge.

Every person convicted of Race a Motor Vehicle is liable to a fine of not less than $2,000 and not more than $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term of not more than six months, or to both, in addition to his or her driver’s licence being suspended.
